PERSONAL

Named the default Mahanon because it was a pretty name and worked for me.

He's 28 at the time of the Conclave explosion (9:41 Dragon), born on the 26th of Harvestmere 9:13 Dragon.

Over a head shorter than the average human (~5'3")

Thin with a dextrous build from being Dalish and always running around Thedas to close Rifts. Narrow hips but not very wide shoulders, giving him a rectangle shape.

Mythal vallaslin, complex design. (I picked this before I had any idea about the plot of the game, which made it pretty awesome.)

White shoulder-length hair, slightly longer in the back. White brows and eyelashes, very pale skin. He lacks the needed pigment, making him albino (or more correctly, leucistic since he lacks all the pigment, not just melanin).

Pale blue eyes. Sees rather badly in bright light due to his pigment issue but sees in the dark thanks to his elven sight. (Canonly they reflect light just like cats thanks to having tapetum lucidum.)

Long, delicate fingers with a few scars (other than the Anchor). Longer scar on his left thigh.

Bruises easily, but mostly superficially.

Tends to get bags under his eyes really easily if he doesn't sleep enough and stresses... which is most of the time.

Mahanon is homosexual (something not that popular among the Dalish since they want more elves to be born), and while he enjoys receiving, he's a versatile lover and doesn't mind switching it around. Whatever feels best or is most comfortable for his partner is good to him.

He's been in relationships and has had sex previously, but is rather easily embarrassed and blushes a lot when being flirted with or when hearing lewd jokes. (That's usually more embarrassing than the jokes themselves.) He doesn't disapprove of them, however - in fact, he enjoys some playful flirty bantering. In bed, it's another thing entirely.

FAMILY

Like many Dalish mages, Mahanon was born in another clan and was sent to Clan Lavellan when he started showing magic skills at a very young age. His birth clan, Tillahnnen, already had a First, a Keeper and even a Second, and during Arlathvhen, Clan Lavellan stated a need for a First. He was welcomed in as once of the Clan's children and grew up among them as a Lavellan.

He has younger siblings - Mahanin (brother) and Satiae (sister), but he has only met them once after leaving Clan Tillahnnen.

As a young man in his upper teens, he fell in love with his best friend Bellanaris and they started a relationship that lasted several years until Revas broke it off, saying he preferred girls and that Mahanon had only looked enough like a girl to sleep with.

About five years before the Conclave, he was in a relationship with one of the clan's hunters, Revas. This time Mahanon broke it off because the other elf was getting too controlling and violent in his dislike of humans.

Clan Lavellan is safe and sound in Mahanon's canon, and the Royal Sixteen hart is his favored mount.

QUEST CHOICES

The Inquisitor's Path

(Went willingly with Cassandra.)

The Wrath of Heaven: Took the direct approach to spare soldier lives.

In Hushed Whispers: Chose to ally with the mages.

In Your Heart Shall Burn: Rescued everyone but Adan, since the pots exploded. Wanted to give himself over to save Haven. When accepting the title of Inquisitor, his words were "I'll do it because it's right."

Here Lies the Abyss: Who he left in the Fade is up to Hawke players, but in general it will be the Warden.

Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts: He had a surprisingly high Court Approval and managed to get Celene and Briala to rule together after stopping Grand Duchess Florianne with accusations rather than fighting. He brought Dorian, Cassandra and Cole to the Winter Palace.

What Pride Had Wrought: Tried to have the Well destroyed rather than drinking from it, but Morrigan stopped him and drank instead.

Aftermath: Leliana became Divine.

Inner Circle

All New, Faded for Her (Solas): Freed the spirit and allowed Solas to kill the mages responsible for binding it.

Bring Me the Heart of Snow White (Vivienne): Killed the white wyvern and gave her the correct heart.

Demands of the Qun (Iron Bull): Saved the Chargers without hesitation, even if it made Bull a Tal-Vashoth and ruined their chances to ally with the Qunari.

Last Resort of Good Men (Dorian): Told Dorian about the letter and encouraged him to go, but walked out with him after meeting his father. (Kind of wanted to punch him, too.)

Of Somewhat Fallen Fortune (Josephine): Helped Josephine by going through the hoops of making the Du Paraquettes nobles.

Perseverance (Cullen): Encouraged Cullen to keep fighting his addiction.

Promise of Destruction (Cassandra): Encouraged Cassandra to rebuild the Seekers and make them better than before.

Revelations (Blackwall): Blackwall was released to the Inquisition via connections and told he'd be given to the Wardens after the Inquisition ends.

Subjected to His Will (Cole): Helped Cole forgive the templar, making him accept himself as a spirit of compassion.

The Left Hand of the Divine (Leliana): Leliana was softened and let Natalie go, learning to see what is right.

The Verchiel March (Sera): Allowed Sera to kill Lord Harmond, and supported her back at Skyhold.

Skyhold Judgments

Chief Movran the Under: Armed and exiled to Tevinter.
Gereon Alexius: Forced to research magic arcana for the Inquisition.
Ser Ruth: Exiled to the Deep Roads.
Crassius Servis: Recruited as an Informant.
Mistress Poulin: Was forced to spend all her money to rebuild the town.
Grand Duchess Florianne: Condemned to farm work for the rest of her life.
Mayor Dedrick: Imprisoned in Ferelden.
Lord Livius Erimond: Executed.
Templar Commander Samson: Given to Cullen's care.
Storvacker: No treats!

AS A COMPANION

Name: Mahanon Lavellan (If the Inquisitor is not a Lavellan.)

Alternate Name: Maharil Tillahnnen (If the Inquisitor is a Lavellan.)

Race/Class/Specialization: Dalish/Mage/Rift Mage

Varric's Nickname: Ghost

Default Tarot Card: The Page of Wands

How They Are Recruited: He can be recruited in the Emerald Graves after being found near one of the Rifts (random) and being attacked by demons. The Inquisitor needs to kill the demons attacking him before he dies, or he (obviously) cannot be recruited.

When asked why he was out here and so close to a Rift, he'll introduce himself as a First of [Clan] and explain that he had been trying to protect a few refugees from the demons. He dances around the question of who a First was so far away from his clan, but can (by being prodded by the Inquisitor via Solas or Cole) admit that he cannot go back.

He thanks the party and then leaves.

When the Inquisitor next goes back to Skyhold, the elf will be waiting for them there, and he asks to join the Inquisition in order to pay back the debt of his life. If accepted, it earns Great Approval from him, Slight Approval from Cole and Varric, but Slight Disapproval from Solas, Vivienne and Sera.

If not accepted, he leaves and the Inquisitor can later find his corpse near another Rift in the Exalted Plains, not far from the Dalish encampment.

Where They Are In Skyhold: Down in the secret room with the giant book, being a nerd.

Generally Approves Of: Helping the innocent, recruiting agents, killing bandits, imprisonment/exile/recruiting verdicts, humorous replies, respect for elves.

Generally Disapproves Of: Blackmail, lying, immediate violence in (speaking) encounters, tranquil verdicts, aggressive replies, disrespecting elves. He does not disapprove or approve of execution verdicts.

Inquisition Friends: Varric, Dorian, The Iron Bull, Cole, Sera.

Romanceable?: Yes; Male Inquisitor Only. Any race.

Mahanon's romance is fairly unique in that it doesn't include any bedroom scenes or kissing until just before the last fight. (Think 'we might die tomorrow'-sex.)

Instead 'flirting' (which he blushes and stammers a lot about) romance options lead to a lot of hanging out in different places, talking to each other and some comfortable light cuddling in the reading nook.

A cutscene in which the Inquisitor is getting aggressively hit on by an NPC ends in some worried and insecure jealousy from Mahanon, who locks the door to his study next time the Inquisitor goes to visit. The Inquisitor can either reassure him that nothing's going on (locking into the relationship) or say that he's not interested in something serious, ending the relationship. (He unlocks the door later and remains a companion even if they break up, but the Inquisitor gets Greatly Disapproves from Mahanon and Disapproves from Cole and Sera.)

His romance quest involves finding a halla horn ring stolen by slavers that helps him get closure after the loss of his siblings (as revealed in the Companion Quest). If unromanced, this quest does not trigger and he will never gain the closure he needs, but remains a strong companion. He gives the ring to the Inquisitor as a love token.

The romance tarot card for Mahanon is the Ace of Cups, portraying him from the nose and below, smiling while holding a large emerald-studded silver cup with both hands and pouring a mass of white feathers from it. One feather is in the foreground, while the vallaslin of Mythal decorates the background.

Small Side Mission: A war table mission involving giving aid to a group of Dalish cut off from the rest of their clan by the Mage-Templar war and now unable to find the location where the clan has moved to. Leliana or Cullen manage to find them the right clan, while using Josephine will get the group to a Dalish clan, but not the correct one.

If they go to the right clan, the Inquisitor gains an Amulet of Power for Mahanon, as well as the Staff of the Wayward, a mage weapon.

If they go to the wrong clan, the Inquistor only gains influence.

Companion Quest: TBA

Cole's Feelings: "Fear. Failure. Freedom. He holds so much that it slips between his fingers. The pain is not knowing the important from the rest. Fighting is easier, painless, emotionless. They don't have faces."

Looking For Something: "What was that?"

Finding A Campsite: "This seems like a nice place. Do you want to stay for a while?"

Inquisitor Falls: "No, not him/her!", "Hope will not die that easily!"

Low Health: "I can't keep fighting!"

Dragon Comment: "Oh. That's... can we put the head in the throne room?"

Default Greeting: "I see you found me down here."

Friendly Greeting: "The hope for Thedas arrives."

Romance Greeting: "Missed me already?"
